Colourful veg

In one corner of my vegie patch I’ve planted rainbow chard (silverbeet) to replace the monotony of the green stemmed varieties. Next to these are red cabbages with grey green leaves and burgundy hearts. In amongst these giants are alstromeria, which will soon be flowering. 50 lilium bulbs are at about one metre high and are showing buds. Next to these are 20 or so dutch iris. In another bed are some native shrubs including rice flowers and eriostemon. Both very pretty and flowering now. Tucked between these are the lime green of cos lettuce and the grey foliage of carnations. Under another bed of straw lies kipfler spuds and if I can keep the neighbour’s horse out we should get a good crop.
